Leaning towards ‘waveform’.

Some of you have probably noticed, but I have a shitty record with coming up with good names.  It’s a symptom of doing so much custom work, I’ve got a thousand different variations on each style, and with all of the little tweaks, I never get around to coming up with names.  This design is here to stay, and will be among the styles available in the webstore this summer, so it’s gotta have a name.

While I’m typing, I should touch on SnowGRADE a bit.  It was really incredible, the amount of interest and enthusiasm from all sides was amazing.  I spent most of the day fitting and finishing belts and bracelets as fast as possible.  It was nice to be able to let everyone pick their leather and their buckle on the spot, though I really should have gotten photos of each belt, there were some cool combinations.

Everyone there was excited about what they were doing, and what the guy/gal at the next table was doing.  It gives me a lot of hope to see a crowd that big turn out to see handmade and US-made goods, maybe it’s not too late to undo some of the ugly consumer culture we’ve built and replace it with something better and more meaningful for those on both sides of the counter.

Holy crap. SnowGRADE was incredible.  I’m beat, but I’ll show/tell you all about it soon.

To those from SnowGRADE trying to get in touch, I’m at hollowsleather(at)gmail

Thank you for linking Kaufmann Mercantile recently. I have difficulty finding retailers with quality, long suffering products. Are there any others you'd recommend?

Kaufmann is a good one.  Old Faithful Shop is also amazing, and of course Archival Clothing, those guys are serious about the pursuit of quality.

Those three are the top of my list.

Here’s a quick list of some others that are serious about quality, mostly in clothing: Self Edge, Hickorees, Woodlands, Inventory, Blackbird, Wilderness Workshop, Brooklyn Circus, Trove General.

(Disclaimer: I loved Archival before they carried my work.)
