Anonymous asked: Hey Nick, I've been following you for quite some time now. It's really cool to see your artistry expand and grow on day to day basis. Any who, I just grabbed up some 1000 Mile chromexcel boots recently... Yum that leather smells so good. Got an recommendations on how the upkeep on these bad boys (e.g. polishes or oils). You read a million different opinions, but I want it from someone who touches it daily. Peace and much respect to your craft brother. From Austin, TX with love.

Thanks very much Anon.  I’m a big supporter of Obenauf’s LP.  It lends itself more to the rugged than the refined, so keep that in mind.  It doesn’t take much, no more than once a season (unless they get soaked, then apply more after air drying).

Chromexcel leather also scuffs fairly easily, and Obenauf’s is good for buffing out those marks.

Edit: Also, yeah.  Horween’s leather smells really really good.  Better than others.
