Here’s one that I have to gush about a bit. A while back a customer asked me to make a wallet and just go nuts, make whatever I felt like making. Something wild.
I’ve been sitting on this high-quality Japanese navy blue dye, and so I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to give it a test run. I am in looooove. This stuff is so rich and beautiful. I did my best to show the depth and variation to the blue, but my limited camera skills don’t quite do the job.
I also rounded up some scarred, waxy, and weird horsehide for the rest of the inside of the wallet. I love the way these pieces look but I generally avoid using them in case the customer is turned off by that sort of thing.
Anyway, that is all to say I think this wallet is extra-awesome, and I look forward to playing with this blue dye some more. A few more pictures of this one over on Flickr.
