A few notes about the Field Wallet

1.) It’s designed to fit a Field Notes book pretty snugly, with fresh leather you may even have to trim a millimeter or two off the cover with an xacto to get a good fit. It’s quick, easy, and better than dealing with a too-loose fit after the leather breaks in.

2.) I know that a lot of people plan to use theirs in a front pocket or jacket pocket, but if you plan to sit on your Field Wallet, you may want to reinforce the spine on your Field Notes book with some packing tape to help it endure the rigors of back pocket life. If you write a lot or have a gentler backside than mine, it may not be an issue at all. Mine has just needed a bit of tape to survive 6 months of vigorous butt-squashing.

Hey man, love your stuff. I've got a question about your Field Notes case, roughly how thick is it when closed?

I just measured my own, it’s about 20mm or .75” at the thickest spot, fully loaded.

It’s probably thicker than an average bifold, but it hasn’t been an issue for me yet, particularly since if I’m sitting for a long time (working, coffee shop), chances are good that I’m also using the notebook, rather than sitting on it.

The striped denim number? It’s from Deluxeware in Japan, but I don’t know who (if anyone) has it in stock anymore.
